Wear It Purple: Make Your Mark Competition
Location : (View Map)
Throughout the month of August, young people across Stonnington, Glen Eira, Port Phillip, & Frankston took part in a bookmark competition to celebrate Wear It Purple Day.
Wear it Purple Day is held annually on the last Friday of August to support and empower lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQIA+) young people. People participate by wearing purple to demonstrate their support, showing rainbow youth that they are safe, respected, and celebrated.
Young people designed these bookmarks to celebrate their pride and to show support to their peers. Each LGA are celebrating these young people and their designs in different ways. Here at Stonnington Youth Services we are hosting a number of Wear it Purple day celebrations across many pride groups and schools including watching celebrated queer films, creating art and much more. We are also having people vote on their favourite design and the winner will be awarded with a prize pack!
The most popular designs across the LGA are going to be printed and may be available soon! Check out their designs below
